- Here is an answer to some of your questions: CCITT is the French
- acronym for Consultative Committee on International Telephony and
- Telegraphy. Now it is called the International Telecommunications
- Union (ITU). This body is part of the United Nations and issues all
- the recommendations on data transmission. Norms for data
- communication are set by ITU (CCITT).
